Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that two lawyers in its Tysons Corner office have been recognized by Virginia Lawyers Weekly as part of its “Leaders in the Law” awards program.
Gene Schleppenbach, a principal in the firm’s Corporate and Securities practice, was honored as a Leader in the Law. A co-chair of the firm’s Government Contracts practice, he is a frequent speaker on corporate and government procurement topics. He is a member of GovConNet Council, an invitation-only body of government contracting industry leaders, and the Professional Services Council, which advocates for the federal professional and technical services industry.
Laura Golden Liff, an associate in the firm’s Commercial and Business Litigation practice, is part of the publication’s inaugural class of “Up & Coming Lawyers,” which recognizes legal practitioners making their marks on the profession within the first ten years of practice. She serves on the executive committee of the Virginia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and has organized events to promote pro bono service.
Now in its eleventh year, the Leaders in the Law awards program recognizes attorneys and professionals in law-related fields who have a significant accomplishment or achievement. These include contributions to the practice of law in Virginia, achievements through the practice of law, leadership in improving the justice system and contributions to Virginia’s legal community or the community at large.
The honorees were recognized at a reception in Richmond on October 27.
