Dwight Stone Elected President of Maryland Defense Counsel

Stone_Dwight_E.jpgMiles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Dwight W. Stone II, a principal and litigator in the law firm’s Baltimore office, was installed as president of Maryland Defense Counsel, Inc. (MDC) in June. He will serve for the 2019-2020 term.

A member of MDC’s board since 2003, Stone has been an instructor at both MDC’s Deposition Bootcamp and its Trial Academy, among many other roles.  He is also active in DRI, a national organization of defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel, serving as membership chair for its Commercial Litigation Committee. In 2017, he chaired the planning committee for DRI’s Business Litigation Seminar.

Stone concentrates his practice on products liability, class action defense and other complex business disputes. He regularly represents clients before the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in connection with corrective action plans (recalls), civil penalties, and reports and investigations under the Consumer Product Safety Act.

In 2018, Stone was inducted as a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, an invitation-only global organization of defense counsel.
