DoD’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC): What It Is, When and How to Prepare
DOD has launched a significant “Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification” (CMMC) initiative that includes reviewing various cybersecurity standards, specifying five maturity levels, and authorizing third-parties to assess contractor compliance. Failure to obtain the appropriate CMMC certification may result in the inability to participate in DOD competitions.
This breakfast seminar will identify important aspects of the CMMC initiative, including the likely impacts on federal contractors in 2020 and beyond. The program will cover:
- a general overview of the CMMC initiative based on the latest information issued by DOD;
- the anticipated timetable for implementation;
- descriptions of the certification levels;
- discussion of audits by third-party organizations responsible for determining compliance with those levels; and
- risks and unanswered questions associated with the CMMC initiative.
We hope you can join us for a lively discussion of this important federal procurement development.
