Vivian Duker advises domestic and international companies across numerous industries, including technology, pharmaceuticals, real estate and energy, in connection with a variety of corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions, equity and asset sales, and the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements. She also counsels public and private corporations and real estate investment trusts on issues pertaining to Maryland corporate law.
Prior to joining Miles & Stockbridge, Vivian served as an associate at a Chambers-ranked law firm in Ghana, where she focused on corporate and commercial domestic and cross-border transactions. She advised international companies on corporate matters in connection with investment in Ghana, liaised with local government agencies, and coordinated the efforts of various subject matter experts to facilitate equity and asset acquisition transactions and public-private partnerships. Her practice also involved providing legal and strategic advice to small- and medium-sized Ghanaian businesses, including artisans and technology startups, on corporate, employment and intellectual property matters, both domestic and international.
Vivian served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge Robert M. Bell of the Court of Appeals of Maryland. She earned her J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where she was executive vice president of the Student Bar Association and a teaching fellow with the Academic Achievement Program.
