Each industry team member selects and gets involved in a subcommittee that works to advance the larger team’s goals. Manufacturing & Distribution: We are experienced in protecting and advancing the interests of manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers, and representing businesses offering a broad range of consumer and industrial products. Our representation includes a variety of matters, such as litigation, product liability, insurance recovery and risk management, labor and employment issues, distribution and supply contracts, leasing, asset-based lending and other forms of financing, real estate, sales and income taxation.
Real Estate: Miles & Stockbridge assists owners, developers, lenders, landlords, tenants, operators, contractors and others on matters related to the acquisition, sale, zoning, development, construction, leasing, management, finance, taxation and disposition of new and existing properties. We also regularly handle real estate-related litigation and work to resolve controversy, including zoning, land use and property tax appeals, environmental claims, and bankruptcy and reorganization issues. Using unsurpassed market knowledge and close working relationships with governmental entities and commercial finance institutions, our Firm brings added value to our representation of real estate clients.
Finance: For more than 70 years, our lawyers have represented large international, national and regional commercial banks, asset-based lenders, private equity and venture capital investors, commercial credit companies, mortgage companies, credit card companies, institutional investors, and many other commercial finance organizations. Our primary focus is representation in financing transactions, but we also represent finance clients in dispute resolution (ranging from bankruptcy and creditors' rights issues to class action litigation defense to workouts), regulatory matters, labor and employment and general corporate matters.
