The awards recognize the nation’s top lawyers under age 40 who exemplify a broad range of high achievement in the legal field, including in advocacy, innovation, vision, leadership and overall legal and community involvement.  Honorees represent a cross-section of legal professionals, all of whom are using their juris doctor degree in innovative and community impacting ways.

As a transactional lawyer in the Corporate, Securities & Tax Practice Group at Miles & Stockbridge, July represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and financing arrangements, as well as general corporate matters and corporate governance issues.

July has been honored several times for his professional accomplishments and community service. Earlier this year, he received The Daily Record’s Generation J.D. award, given to up-and-coming lawyers who are already making a difference in their profession and their communities. He was also selected by the Warnock Foundation as one of its 2017 Social Innovation Fellows.

In 2016, July was chosen by Miles & Stockbridge for a landmark program created by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

He is a member of the board of directors of the National Academy Foundation School of Baltimore and is a co-founder of Baltimore Young Professionals, which creates networking and learning opportunities for African-American professionals.  He formerly served on the board of Live Baltimore, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting the benefits of Baltimore City living.

July and other NBA 40 Under 40 recipients were honored at an awards gala during the NBA’s annual convention in New Orleans.
