Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that it was recently honored for its diversity efforts by Bank of America. The law firm was one of only six finalists from around the country for the Bank’s 2017 Diversity and Inclusion Business Council Award, given by the financial institution's Diversity and Inclusion Business Council (DIBC) and its Legal Department.
Miles & Stockbridge received an honorable mention during a special recognition ceremony at the Bank’s Charlotte headquarters in May. The firm was one of more than 150 law firms that responded to the annual survey, now in its fifth year. After being notified that the firm was a finalist, several members of Miles & Stockbridge’s leadership team were interviewed by the DIBC.
“We greatly value our relationship with Bank of America and are driven by the fact that diverse colleagues with different experiences, viewpoints and perspectives benefit our clients and lead to better results,” said John B. Frisch, chairman and CEO of Miles & Stockbridge. “To be considered on a national level with firms much larger than ours is a true honor.” The 2017 recipient, O'Melveny & Myers, and the other four finalists are global firms.
In an award letter, the Bank said one way it works to build an inclusive environment is "to partner with both majority-owned and minority-owned law firms to pursue our shared goals of increasing diversity and inclusion within the legal profession."
