Leah Hauser Appointed to Board of Directors of Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland
Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Leah M. Hauser, an associate in the firm’s Family Law & Private Clients Practice Group, has been appointed to the board of the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC).
Hauser will serve a two-year term on the board of PBRC, which addresses the inequality of access to the legal system by connecting volunteer lawyers to economically disadvantaged individuals, non-profit legal services providers, and communities for free legal counsel and representation. PBRC is the designated pro bono arm of the Maryland State Bar Association.
With her practice spanning state, interstate and international family law matters, Hauser counsels clients in cases involving divorce, custody, child support, alimony, adoption, and settlement agreements.
Hauser devotes hundreds of hours each year to providing pro bono legal services, with a focus on helping domestic violence survivors and returning missing and abducted children to the United States and other countries. In 2017, she won the firm’s Pro Bono Advocate Award, which recognizes Miles & Stockbridge employees whose pro bono work exemplifies the firm’s strong tradition of public service.
A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law and the University of Baltimore, Hauser served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Vicki Ballou-Watts of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County before joining Miles & Stockbridge.
