A principal in the firm’s Real Estate and Transactional Finance practice in Baltimore, Skopp worked on the deal for the multi-family Nelson-Kohl building for over a year. In his remarks at the ceremonial groundbreaking, Ernst Valery, one of the investors in and lead developer of Nelson-Kohl Apartments, LLC, thanked the firm and singled out Skopp for his critical role in serving as counsel on the project.

The Nelson-Kohl building will include approximately 100 market-rate and affordable apartments, a Milk and Honey market, and gallery space. Slated for completion in fall 2017, the building is part of the ongoing redevelopment of the area around Penn Station into an arts and entertainment district.

Congressman Elijah Cummings, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, and City Councilman Carl Stokes were on hand for the ceremony, along with actor Wendell Pierce, who starred in “The Wire” and is an investor in the project.

More information about the groundbreaking and the Nelson-Kohl building are available in stories by The Baltimore Sun, WMAR and WBAL.
