Amber Jackson Reappointed to Character Committee for Maryland’s Sixth Appellate Judicial Circuit
Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Amber Jackson, a labor and employment lawyer in the firm’s Baltimore office, has been reappointed by the Court of Appeals of Maryland as a member of the 6th Judicial Circuit character committee for the State Board of Law Examiners.
Jackson was first appointed to the character committee in 2016. Her second term will end in August 2020.
Character committees are appointed by Court of Appeals in Maryland’s seven Appellate Judicial Circuits to review the character and fitness of applicants to the Maryland State Bar and make recommendations regarding the applicants to the State Board of Law Examiners.
About Amber Jackson
Amber Jackson is an associate in the Labor, Employment, Benefits & Immigration Practice Group of Miles & Stockbridge, where she represents employers in employment litigation and counsels clients on a range of labor and employment issues.
In 2017, she was selected by Black Business Review for its inaugural “40 Under 40” honor for leaders who are improving and innovating Greater Baltimore business, their companies and the community.
The former co-chair of the pro bono committee of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, Jackson has organized events to help lawyers learn about pro bono opportunities and has volunteered at expungement clinics. She has volunteered with the Nathan Carter School of Music in Baltimore since 2012.
