Leianne S. McEvoy

Principal
Leianne S. McEvoy

Leianne McEvoy has 10 years of experience defending clients in personal injury, medical malpractice and complex litigation cases before state and federal courts. Her practice encompasses medical malpractice, products liability defense, premises liability and mass tort litigation.

In medical malpractice, her work includes both catastrophic and non-catastrophic injuries and has covered virtually every area of medicine, including obstetrics, gynecology, intensive care, general surgery, neurology, anesthesiology, gastroenterology, pediatrics, nursing care, infectious disease, neonatal intensive care, urogynecology, pelvic organ repair and cardiology. She also provides general liability and premises liability representation for a tertiary care center.

Leianne is responsible for all phases of the litigation process, including pre-trial, trial and appellate work. Her methodical and strategic approach to factual investigation and trial preparation has helped gain leverage for clients in mitigating damages and reducing settlements. Building on her deep understanding of complex medical and scientific issues, she is adept at challenging plaintiff theories and providing careful scrutiny of plaintiff economic reports and life care plans. She has an established track record of excluding plaintiff’s experts.

Leianne makes it a point of pride to ensure that the doctors, nurses and other health care providers she is defending are not merely technically ready to be deposed, but feel strong and self-assured before facing opposing counsel. Her skill in this regard has been recognized by a hospital client that enlisted her to provide a witness preparation presentation to litigation counsel.

Leianne's recent case results include securing a defense verdict in favor of a hospital in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City after a multi-week jury trial.

A board member of the Maryland Defense Counsel, she is the editor of its publication, The Defense Line.
