Henry M. Abromson

Henry “Hank” Abromson is a business and intellectual property lawyer. His practice includes the negotiation and preparation of a wide array of business and real estate agreements and transactions, as well as trademark, branding and technology law.

With a master’s degree in business administration in addition to his law degree, Hank takes a pragmatic approach to analyzing and addressing complex legal and business problems. He serves his clients as a trusted legal and business advisor and integral team member, committed to helping them manage risks, find practical solutions to challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

He represents many large established businesses along with small and emerging business entities and individuals. Often serving in an outside general counsel capacity, he advises clients on business formation and maintenance, contracts and transactions, business sales and purchases, real estate matters, and other issues. His practice also encompasses e-commerce and cyber law matters such as domain name disputes, website terms and agreements, software license agreements, and information privacy and security.

Hank has a particular interest and a strong background in working with clients to create effective branding strategies and comprehensive intellectual property plans for the protection of their marks, proprietary information and other intellectual property assets.  He regularly helps his clients register and enforce their rights with respect to trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and confidential information.  

The chair of the intellectual property and technology law section of the Frederick County Bar Association, he also serves on several corporate boards, including the board of directors of the Fort Detrick Alliance.

He is also an advocate for those in the craft brewing, winery and distillery industries as a member of the Brewers Association of Maryland, the Maryland Distillers Guild and the Maryland Wineries Association.
